What Is PPSC?
The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) conducts recruitment tests for government positions in Punjab, Pakistan. From lecturers and sub-inspectors to assistant directors and tehsildars — PPSC tests are the gateway to government careers in Pakistan's largest province.
PPSC uses the one paper MCQ format for most positions, typically with 100 questions in 90 minutes. The subjects vary by post but almost always include a common core of general knowledge subjects.
Common PPSC Test Subjects
General Knowledge & Current Affairs (30-40%)
This is the largest section in most PPSC papers. It covers Pakistan's geography, politics, economics, notable personalities, and recent events. International organizations, capitals, and currencies also appear frequently.
Practice extensively with General Knowledge MCQs and Pakistan Affairs MCQs. These two sections alone can secure 30-40% of your total marks.
English (15-20%)
PPSC English questions focus on grammar, fill-in-the-blanks, synonyms/antonyms, and sentence correction. The difficulty level is intermediate — harder than NTS but easier than CSS.
Our English MCQ section has questions graded by difficulty, perfect for PPSC preparation.
Islamic Studies / Islamiat (10-15%)
Basic Islamic knowledge: pillars, Seerah, Quran references, prominent Islamic figures. Straightforward questions for anyone with basic Islamic education. Practice with our Islamic Studies MCQs.
Everyday Science (10-15%)
Basic scientific concepts tested include vitamins and deficiency diseases, famous inventions and their inventors, units of measurement, planets, and environmental topics. Our Everyday Science section covers all PPSC-level topics.
Computer Science (5-10%)
MS Office functions, shortcut keys, basic internet terms, and hardware/software fundamentals. Quick revision of Computer Science MCQs can secure easy marks.
Post-Specific Subject (20-30%)
For specialized positions (lecturer, doctor, engineer), PPSC includes subject-specific questions. For general posts, this portion is replaced by more GK and current affairs.
